Hashtags are huge for gaining exposure for your brand on Instagram, it is not as relevant on Facebook. (For more tips check out 5 Social Media Mistakes You May Still Be Making) . How are you using them to your advantage?
Hashtags can provide your business with great exposure, but how are you using them? I see so many mistakes in the land of hashtags! I use to make many of them myself! There is an art and a science around using them to speak to your ideal client.
The latest update for hashtags allows you to now follow them!
Why is this feature good for your business?
Because it can now put you directly into your ideal clients feed even easier! No clicking around! As they scroll they will now see your post in their feed! Um, HECK YES!
This update if one I am excited for and see as a game changer for Instagram!
If you are not hashing it is time to jump on board the train! Make sure you are putting them in the comments below your photo. No one wants to read them all in the description unless they are fun or cute!
Also, make sure you are using relevant tags that speak to your ideal client! This is so important!
Lastly, patience babe! This is not going to explode your business overnight! I think there is a huge misconception when people start up on a social media marketing plan. Growing slow and gaining exposure is the best thing that you can do for your business! Over the past five years people now take 22% longer to convert from a sales cycle! Stay consistent! The best thing you can do for your brand and business is to SHOW up!
People are watching, even if they aren't liking and commenting. Make sure they remember you! Every time you read the story, the turtle always wins. #betheturtle
